openDAQ
openDAQ defines an abstraction layer for DAQ devices and signal processing blocks, designed to describe virtually any measurement system. What sets openDAQ apart from other standards (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, ASAM, EtherCAT) is that it doesn't aim to stand apart from them, but to bring them into a shared ecosystem. We do this through translator modules that map other standards to and from the openDAQ model, so that existing third-party software can connect to openDAQ, and vice versa. As the Protocols & Connectivity software engineer, you'll own these translators. You'll design, build and evolve them, making sure they're secure, perform well under real-world data loads and conform to each protocol's standard. You'll also maintain the protocol infrastructure in the openDAQ core, and keep track of evolving industry standards to help shape the openDAQ roadmap. What you will do - Develop modules that translate DAQ and industrial standards (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, ASAM) to and from the openDAQ model - Build shared protocol infrastructure in the openDAQ core - Extend and maintain the protocol-facing parts of the openDAQ API - Implement protocol security, including encryption, authentication, authorization and certificate management - Optimize data streaming performance (bandwidth, latency, resource usage) - Ensure interoperability with third-party products that use the supported protocols - Integrate and test third-party protocol libraries used by openDAQ - Track and research relevant industry standards - Maintain clear documentation and examples of how openDAQ maps to each protocol Not all are strictly necessary, but we expect you to learn whatever you do not yet know. - Strong knowledge of C++ - Experience with CMake - Understanding of software architecture and design principles - Knowledge of network stacks and basic socket programming - Experience working on larger backend projects - Solid understanding of API design - Familiarity with various backend libraries Nice to have - Knowledge of secure programming practices - Experience with industrial or communication protocols - Experience working on long-lived platforms or SDKs - Applications from less experienced candidates are also welcome if they demonstrate strong motivation and technical understanding. What we're looking for in you - Critical thinking: You question assumptions and don't accept ideas at face value. You consider the wider context, and you aim to solve problems, not just ship features - End-to-end ownership: You research, plan and execute your work, from the initial idea to final validation - Curiosity and a drive to learn: You enjoy working with and learning about new technologies and tools, and you're comfortable starting a task with incomplete knowledge and learning as you go - Collaboration: You work towards shared goals, not just your own tasks, and are comfortable offering, asking for, and accepting help - Work on an open-source core used by industry worldwide - Direct influence on architecture and the long-term direction of openDAQ - Technically challenging and meaningful work without feature churn - Collaboration with experienced engineers in core systems and protocols, including those from Dewesoft and HBK - Competitive salary and a performance-based bonus system - Location: Trbovlje, Slovenia. Possibility of a hybrid work setup - Rewards: based on individual and company performance - Employment type: Full-time [email protected] (Please include C++ Engineer in the email subject.)

We're building something that doesn't exist yet: an AI immune system for humans. The Umanitek Guardian Agent protects people from deepfakes and digital impersonation by combining intelligence with systems built for verification and scale. If you're excited by the idea of building reliable platforms and backend systems for agents that reason, not just predict, you'll feel right at home. As a Platform Engineer, you'll build and operate the platform powering the Guardian Agent ecosystem. You'll work across backend engineering and infrastructure, building production-ready services while ensuring they can be deployed, monitored, and scaled reliably. Your primary focus will be developing backend services, REST APIs, MCP tooling, and agent runtimes using Node.js and TypeScript. You'll also own key parts of the platform layer: CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, deployments, observability, and infrastructure automation. This is a hands-on role where ownership and systems thinking matter. You'll help ensure Guardian services are secure, scalable, observable, and easy for the team to evolve. Responsibilities -Build and maintain backend services, REST APIs, MCP servers, and agent tooling using Node.js and TypeScript -Design and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS -Own CI/CD pipelines, deployments, release workflows, and production environments -Build and maintain containerized services using Docker and infrastructure automation tools -Ensure reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, performance optimization, and security best practices -Troubleshoot production issues across application and infrastructure layers -Collaborate on architecture decisions around AI agents, decentralized systems, and scalable production infrastructure Technical Experience -4+ years of experience in Backend Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering -Strong Nest.js, TypeScript and Node.js experience building production backend services -Experience with REST APIs, Express, Nest.js, and microservice architectures -Experience deploying and operating production systems in cloud environments (AWS, DigitalOcean, or GCP) -Strong experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation concepts -Experience with monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting -Solid understanding of databases, networking, Linux systems, and security fundamentals Nice to Have -Familiarity with Turborepo and monorepo workflows -Experience with MCP tooling, AI/LLM applications, or agent-based systems -Experience with Docker or advanced container orchestration -Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code workflows -Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or background workers -Familiarity with decentralized systems or knowledge graph technologies Why Umanitek We're early, lean, and ambitious. You'll work directly with founders and researchers behind OriginTrail and Umanitek, helping build the foundation of AI safety infrastructure used by public institutions, enterprises, and individuals. If that sounds like your kind of hard — come build with us. We offer a market-aligned salary, participation in the employee stock option pool, and clear opportunities to grow into senior and leadership roles as the company scales. Final employer: Umanitek ag Approximate salary: 4000-6000EUR Apply: If interested, please send your CV to [email protected] or apply via our website.
