Mesečno plačilo poleg osnovne plače (1.511, 52€ bruto) obsega še povračilo potnih stroškov, povračilo malice ter dodatke za delo ob manj ugodnih izmenah (dodatek na popoldansko delo, nočno delo, delo ob nedeljah in ob praznikih). Osebni asistent nudi pomoč uporabniku (invalidu) pri vseh opravilih, ki jih uporabnik sam ne zmore opraviti zaradi invalidnosti, jih pa potrebuje na dnevni ravni za aktivno in neodvisno življenje (pomoč pri osebni negi, gospodinjskih in drugih dnevnih opravilih, spremstvo ter pomoč pri komunikaciji).
